Our Promise to You

At Southeast Doodles, our philosophy is simple: health always comes before profit. We believe that ethical breeding means taking full responsibility for the lives we bring into this world.

By meticulously health testing our parent dogs, raising our puppies inside our home with early socialization, and providing transparent veterinary documentation, we ensure that you are bringing home a confident, healthy companion. We view our adoption process not as a transaction, but as the beginning of a lifetime relationship with you and your dog.

What Our Guarantee Covers

Our written contract provides clear, transparent protection for your new family member.

Genetic Conditions

Coverage for severe, life-altering genetic conditions that significantly impact the dog's quality of life, up to 2 years of age.

Congenital Defects

Protection against severe congenital anomalies present at birth that are diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian.

Clear Vet Check

Every puppy is guaranteed to leave our care having passed a thorough wellness examination by our licensed veterinarian.

Health Testing Our Parents Receive

Learn how screening differs from veterinary care, and request the individual parent reports for your chosen litter. Evaluations vary by dog.

DNA Testing

DNA panels screen for specific inherited variants. Request the reports for both parents of your chosen litter; a screening result does not rule out every disease.

Breed-Specific Screening

Ask which breed-specific conditions are included in each parent's documented panel. Specialist eye, cardiac, and orthopedic evaluations are separate from DNA screening.

Temperament Evaluation

Health isn't just physical. We carefully evaluate the behavior and temperament of our adults to produce calm, trainable, family-friendly puppies.

Routine Veterinary Care

Our parent dogs receive constant preventative care, high-quality nutrition, and regular wellness exams to maintain peak condition.

Health Guarantee FAQs

Common questions about our health policies and puppy care.

What does your health guarantee cover?
Our 2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee covers severe, life-altering hereditary disorders and congenital defects that significantly impact the quality of life or lifespan of the puppy. This aligns with our written contract provided before purchase.
How long is the genetic health guarantee?
The genetic health guarantee extends for 2 years (24 months) from the puppy's date of birth, provided the buyer fulfills the terms of the health contract, including the initial veterinary examination.
Are the parent dogs health tested?
Ask for the individual health records for the parents of your chosen litter. DNA screening, veterinary examinations, and other evaluations have different purposes, and the tests documented vary by dog.
Do the puppies see a veterinarian before going home?
Absolutely. Every puppy receives a comprehensive wellness examination by a licensed veterinarian before they are cleared to go to their new homes.
Are vaccinations included with my puppy?
Yes. Your puppy will arrive with age-appropriate core vaccinations administered according to standard veterinary protocols.
What medical paperwork do I receive?
You will receive a complete health folder containing your puppy's physical exam results, a detailed vaccination and deworming record, microchip registration information, and a copy of your signed health guarantee.
What happens if a genetic condition develops?
In the unlikely event a covered severe genetic condition develops within the two-year window, our contract outlines the remedy process, which typically involves breeder compensation toward treatment or puppy replacement without requiring you to surrender your beloved pet, subject to veterinary documentation.
Do you offer lifetime breeder support?
Yes. We consider you part of the Southeast Doodles family for the life of your dog. We are always available to answer questions, provide guidance, and offer support.
How soon should I visit my veterinarian after pickup?
Follow the initial veterinary-exam deadline in your signed purchase agreement. Review the agreement before pickup and arrange your puppy's first appointment with a licensed veterinarian promptly.
What vaccines has my puppy received?
Puppies typically receive their first round of DAPP (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus) vaccines at 6-7 weeks of age. Your exact medical record will detail the specific vaccines and dates.
Are your puppies microchipped?
Yes. Every puppy is microchipped prior to going home to ensure they have permanent identification should they ever become lost.
Can I contact you if I have questions after bringing my puppy home?
Please do! We want our puppies to succeed. Whether you have questions about potty training, biting, or diet, we are here to help.
Do you offer nutrition and diet guidance?
Yes. We send every puppy home with a sample of their current high-quality puppy food and provide detailed instructions on feeding schedules and transitioning to new food if desired.
What food should I feed my new puppy?
We recommend a WSAVA-compliant, high-quality large breed or medium breed puppy food. We will let you know exactly what your puppy is eating so you can purchase it prior to arrival.
Do you provide pet insurance?
We partner with Trupanion to provide 30 days of free, no-obligation pet medical insurance starting the day you bring your puppy home (activation required).
What happens if I have health concerns about my puppy?
If you have immediate medical concerns, please consult your veterinarian. For general health, growth, or behavioral questions, you can reach out to us at any time.
Which breeds are covered by this guarantee?
Our 2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee applies to all puppies bred by Southeast Doodles, including Mini Goldendoodles, Moyen Goldendoodles, Standard Goldendoodles, Cockapoos, and Double Doodles.
Can I review the health guarantee contract before purchasing?
Yes. We believe in complete transparency. We provide our health guarantee and purchase contract to all approved applicants for review before any non-refundable reservation fees are accepted.
How do you select your breeding dogs?
Discuss the parents of your chosen litter with us and request their individual health records. Consider temperament, documented evaluations, and the limitations of any screening when choosing your puppy.
Why is genetic health testing so important?
Genetic screening can identify variants included in a particular panel and help inform breeding decisions. It does not test for every condition, replace veterinary care, or guarantee a puppy will never develop a hereditary disease.
