Care, clarity & confidence

Puppy Health Standards

From veterinary care and early socialization to the transition home, learn how we help prepare your puppy for family life and what to review together at pickup.

Veterinary care and preventive health

Our puppy care includes a veterinary wellness examination before go-home, age-appropriate vaccinations, and deworming. Review your puppy's health folder with us for the products, dates, examination findings, and next steps specific to your puppy.

Age-appropriate vaccinations do not mean that a young puppy has finished the full vaccination series. Arrange ongoing care with your veterinarian and follow their advice about boosters, parasite prevention, and safe exposure to other dogs.

Microchipping and socialization

Microchipping is part of our puppy care. At pickup, review the chip information and registration instructions, and keep your contact details up to date. A microchip is identification, not a GPS tracker.

Our puppies grow up with daily handling, early socialization, and everyday household experiences. Continue gentle, age-appropriate introductions and reward-based training at home; individual temperament and development vary.

What to review at pickup

  • The puppy's veterinary examination information.
  • Dated vaccination and deworming records, including follow-up care.
  • Microchip identification and registration instructions.
  • The signed purchase agreement and written health guarantee.
  • A sample of the puppy's current food, along with feeding and transition guidance.
  • Breeder contact information for ongoing support.

Confirm the documents and supplies for your particular puppy before pickup. Ask us about anything missing or unclear.

The written health guarantee

Our two-year genetic health guarantee covers qualifying severe hereditary conditions and congenital defects, subject to the written agreement. Please review the agreement for coverage, exclusions, buyer responsibilities, required documentation, and remedies before reserving your puppy.

Follow the initial veterinary-exam deadline in your signed purchase agreement. Review it before pickup and arrange your puppy's first appointment promptly.

Read the health guarantee and request the written agreement

Pet insurance: activation is required

An introductory 30-day Trupanion offer requires activation; coverage does not start automatically when you collect your puppy.

Ask for the current offer, activation instructions, deadline, and eligibility conditions before go-home. Confirm coverage and exclusions directly with the insurer, since eligibility and policy terms determine whether a particular puppy or condition qualifies.

Continuing care at home

Keep your puppy's medical records, arrange the required initial veterinary visit, and continue the vaccination and preventive-care plan. We offer transition guidance and lifetime breeder support. For urgent medical concerns, contact a veterinarian rather than waiting for a breeder reply.
